    Great Falls High, in dramatic fashion, presented legendary Great Falls High School boys basketball coach Johhny Smith his 900th career win on Friday, Feb. 1 in the GFHS gym.

    The Red Devils, facing Chester County Class A rival Lewisville High School, rallied in the game’s final seconds to secure Smith the landmark win.

    KERSHAW – The No. 6 Andrew Jackson girls avenged their lone Region IV-AA loss with a late flurry to net a 58-50 win over fifth-ranked Cheraw at the AJ gym on Tuesday, January 29.

    The Lancaster Bruins kept their Class AAAA Upper State basketball playoff hopes alive with a pair of wins in Region III-AAAA play Tuesday, Jan. 29.

    The LHS girls, 6-5, 8-10, rallied for a 43-39 win over Fort Mill in the opener and the Bruins capped the sweep with a 64-56 win over the Jackets.

    Indian Land and Cheraw each posted five individual winners in the All-Region IV-AA wrestling tournament at Buford High School on Saturday, Jan. 26.

    Buford, which hosted the tournament for the second straight season, registered four winners to earn all-region honors.
