    COLUMBIA – Third-ranked Keenan punched its ticket to the Class AA Upper State championship basketball game for the second time in three seasons, but it took a strong effort to complete the hoops task.

    No. 5 Indian Land battled the Raiders all the way before 23-5 KHS took an 86-76 home win over the Warriors in the Class AA Upstate semifinals on Wednesday, Feb. 20.

    The University of South Carolina Lancaster Lancers will look to get back on track today when they travel to Newberry for a twin bill with the Newberry College junior varsity baseball team.

    The Lancers saw their 2013 baseball record fall to 3-3 with a 4-1 road to Brunswick Community College in Supply, N.C., on Saturday afternoon.

    INDIAN LAND – Indian Land, 23-2, placed four players in double figures and defeated Fairfield Central High of Winnsboro, 78-67 on Monday, Feb. 20 in the Warriors’ gym.

     The 11-point win sends the No. 5 IL boys to Keenan High of Columbia for a third-round game in the Class AA Upper State playoffs on Wednesday, Feb. 20  Keenan advanced with a 72-65 win over Cheraw. The winner advances to the Class AA Upper State championship on Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville.
