    Johnny Pursley cruised to victory at Lancaster Motor Speedway, beating out a stout field of 34 Super Late Models in the Southeast on Saturday evening at Lancaster Motor Speedway for the $4,000 to win Carolina Clash feature.

    The NDRA Crate Late Models main was the race of the night at Lancaster Motor Speedway on Saturday night.

    The front row featured pole winner Dennis “Rambo” Franklin and Steve Banal.

  • BHS blasts Caps, advances

    The Buford Yellow Jackets rolled in their postseason baseball opener, blanking Columbia, 16-0 on Thursday.

    The win moved BHS, the Region IV-AA champion, to a second round winner’s bracket home clash with Broome on Saturday. The game was completed after The News’ deadline for Sunday’s edition.

    Ricky Lewis, 2-0, was the winner in three frames of work, striking out seven. He allowed three hits and two walks.

    Marcus Broadway worked two frames and whiffed three.
