  • Lady Bruins blitz Cats


    The Lancaster Lady Bruins started slow, but picked up steam to remain unbeaten in Region III-AAAA girls basketball play Friday, Jan. 31 in the LHS gym where it prevailed, 55-31.

    The Bruins were solid in their start, but didn’t finish in dropping a 54-45 loss to Rock Hill in the boys game.

    The Lancaster County Parks and Recreation is launching a new girls’ softball division called Dixie X-Play for girls ages 9-10 and 11-12.

  • Weather resets games


    Old Man Winter, in the form of a winter storm, has caused county high school athletic officials to reset a host of contests this week.

    Early week prep basketball and wrestling action was wiped with a winter storm which brought snow and icy road conditions to put play on hold.

  • Track’s 60th season begins March...


    The 2014 dirt track racing season is right around the corner for Lancaster Super Speedway as the first race of the 60th LSS season is March 22 with the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series.

    Other divisions racing that night are to be announced at a later date.

    The Volunteers’ squad sports a unique family trey – the McIsaac brothers, senior twins Cameron and Tanner along with sophomore Austin.

    CHESTERFIELD – The Buford Jackets made key plays in the clutch to notch a 57-54 win for their first Region IV-AA victory this season on Friday, Jan. 24 at Chesterfield.

    The BHS boys' three-point win gave the visitors a split in the varsity twin bill.

  • Stallions wrestlers down Bruins


    South Pointe built an early lead on the way to a 60-10 Region III-AAAA win over Lancaster at the LHS gym on Thursday, Jan. 23.

    The Stallions, 20-5, won seven of the first nine matches on the way to the 50-point victory.

    KERSHAW – The No. 5 Indian Land Warriors got rolling in the final two periods to stay unbeaten in Region IV-AA boys basketball play Friday, Jan. 24 at the Andrew Jackson High School gym.
