    Registration for the 28th annual member-guest golf tournament at the Lancaster Golf Club continues to June 11 at the LGC pro shop.The two-day tournament, regarded as one of the top events at the Lancaster Golf Club each season, is set for June 14-15.Friday opens play with an 18-hole par-three tournament followed by a cookout at the patio. Play opens Saturday and continues Sunday.“This is one of our best tournaments each year,” LGC pro Phil Small said.

    Fort Mill foiled Lancaster Post 31’s opener in League V Legion baseball play with a 13-11 win over P-31 on Monday night.Lancaster, 2-3, 0-1, held a 9-1 lead after six innings and needed two runs to close out Post 43, but the Fort Mill team fought back.Post 43, seeking to rebound from a 6-14 mark of last season, scored six in the seventh inning to make it 9-7.

  • Funderburk to lead Buford

    Eric Funderburk is headed for home.Funderburk, a former Buford High School three-sport standout, is returning to the Jackets as the BHS head baseball coach.Funderburk, 36, comes to Buford after serving the last 10 years with the Lancaster High School baseball program.“We’re extremely excited about Eric coming to lead our baseball program,” Buford High School principal Jonathan Phipps said. “He’s coming home and we couldn’t be happier for him.

Fort Mill is seeking to rebound from a 6-14 mark of last season.The Fort Mill Post 43 Legion baseball roster includes several Indian Land High School area players.Lancaster, 2-2, dropped an 11-1 home loss to Sumter on Thursday night.

    The Columbus Parker Track Club earned 55 ribbons in its first meet this season held at Johnson C.
