    The Rams, in contrasting fashion, captured both ends of the hoops twin bill to down rival South Middle School.

    INDIAN LAND – Indian Land High School senior football star Manny McCord had a dream come true Feb. 5.

    McCord, who has dreamed of playing college football since his middle school days, saw it all come to fruition.

    The Lancaster County Gamecock Club’s spring meeting is Thursday, April 3 in the University of South Carolina Lancaster’s Bradley Building.

    A shrimp boil will be served at 6 p.m. and the program will follow.

    The impact of the latest winter storm has put an impact on regular-season ending games slated for Friday, Feb. 14.

    Since the Lancaster County School District closed schools for the third straight day, games for Friday, Feb. 14, were reset for Monday, Feb. 17.

  • Lancers go 1-2 with Knights

     

    Middle Georgia State College took two of three baseball games from the University of South Carolina Lancaster over the weekend, Feb. 8-9.

    On Saturday, the Lancers split a twin bill with Middle Georgia, winning the opener, 9-8 before dropping the nightcap, 8-3.

    KERSHAW – Andrew Jackson High School senior football standout Tray King noted several reasons for signing with Saint Augustine College, including the chance to play off the bat.

  • Jackets swarm Rams in 76-52 win

     

    The Buford Yellow Jackets clicked on the hardwood Monday, Feb. 10 when the BHS boys blitzed the Chesterfield Rams, 76-52 in Region IV-AA basketball play.

    The Jackets’ 24-point win gave Buford a split after the Lady Jackets dropped a 35-23 loss to the CHS girls.

  • IL wrestlers strong in A-AA...

     

    The Indian Land wrestling team produced a strong run in the Class A-AA Upper State duals tournament before falling to eventual Class A-AA Upper State champion Liberty, 43-28 at Powdersville High School in Greenville on Saturday, Feb. 8.
