  • Neal keys AJ over Buford

    Andrew Jackson took a key step in its quest for the Region IV-AA baseball title, posting an 8-4 win over region and county rival Buford High School at Buford Park on Friday night.
    AJ pitcher Chandler Neal sparked the Volunteers, who improved to 5-1 in region play, with a stellar effort on the mound and at the plate.
    Neal went the distance, allowing four runs – two earned runs and struck out six Jackets. He also allowed two walks and six hits.

    KERSHAW – Friday afternoon Andrew Jackson High senior soccer player Brandon Neal had a reason to smile, but it wasn’t anything about the end of school and the start of spring break.
    Neal beamed at the thought of his future, continuing his education and playing college soccer.
    Neal will be a member of the first University of South Carolina Lancaster soccer team after signing with the Lancers in the AJ media center.

    KERSHAW – Andrew Jackson High School senior soccer player Denton Clements said Friday afternoon was a dream come true.
    “I never thought I would be playing college soccer, so it’s a dream come true,” said Clements, a four-year soccer player for the Volunteers.
    Clements’ soccer future will be at the University of South Carolina Lancaster where the Lancers will field their first men’s soccer team this fall.
