  • Mangum takes Super Street...

    Timbo Mangum won a tight battle to win the Super Street main to highlight Lancaster Motor Speedway action on Saturday night.

    The Super Street front row had Mangum and Jody Bigham. At the green flag, Mangum, Bigham, Brandy Baker and Mike Broome roared into turn one for the lead.

  • LHS volleyball scrimmage Saturday

    The annual Lancaster High School volleyball scrimmage is Saturday, Aug. 25 in the LHS gym.

    The varsity field includes Andrew Jackson, Buford, Central of Pageland and host Lancaster on court one.

    BUFORD – Buford High School star defensive player Marcus Brown is no longer part of the Jackets’ football program, but BHS senior offensive right tackle Andrew Plyler still appreciates Brown’s play.

  • Dirt Diamonds shine in play

    The Dirt Diamonds travel softball team went 5-0 and captured the CSA 14U national championship Aug. 11-12 in Florence.

    The Diamonds, in pool play, defeated the Sumter Shockers 5-4 (win Haley Vincent) and Carolina Reign 8-0 (win Haley Vincent).

    Anniversaries are always important, but achieving the 10th anniversary of a fund-raiser is a record-setting event.

    On Saturday, Aug. 25, the Diabetes Education Clinic will set a new record in Lancaster with its 10th annual captain’s choice golf tournament.

  • LMS hosting Extreme 4 Fest

    Lancaster Motor Speedway will host the M&M Muffler & Tire Stock 4/Extreme 4 Fest with $500 to win in both the Stock 4 Division and FWD/UCAR Division.

    M&M Muffler & Tire Stock 4/Extreme 4 Fest details:

    Stock 4 is 10 laps with four heat laps.

    The Lancaster High School junior varsity had a big day at the first Bear Hug Brawl junior varsity football jamboree at Buford High School’s Jacket Stadium on Saturday.

    The team of Milford Miller took top honors in the annual Family Promise of Lancaster County captain’s choice golf tournament Saturday afternoon at the Lancaster Golf Club.

  • Lancers to open soccer season...

    Friday marks the opening day for the University of South Carolina at Lancaster women’s and men’s soccer program.

    The Lancers will play their home matches on campus this season at their new field located below the Carol Ray Dowling Center off Hubbard Drive.
