    For a team which didn’t open the season on a strong note, the Andrew Jackson High School golf team has charged out to a stellar 14-0 record, including an 11-0 Region IV-AA mark.

    Lancaster lived up to its nickname, but never-say-die Buford lived another day on the unbeaten side in prep baseball.

    The Battlin’ Bruins battled, but the resilient Jackets survived in a 7-6 comeback win over Lancaster High at Doomsday Corner on Thursday, April 9.

    The Seth’s Hope 5K road race is set for Saturday, April 25 at the Gregory Health and Wellness Center at the University of South Carolina Lancaster.

    Runners can register at jackrabbittiming.com. Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with the race set to begin at 8:30.

  • Warriors booters trip Bruins

     

    Indian Land built a 3-2 halftime lead and added a pair of goals to take a 5-2 win over Lancaster at Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, April 8.

    The Warriors, 6-3, 3-0, had five goals from five different players in the victory.

    Unbeaten Buford opened the second half of its Region IV-AA baseball schedule with an impressive 10-0 home win over region and county rival Andrew Jackson High School on Tuesday, April 7.

  • LBC’s on a roll for state tourney

     

    The Lancaster Bowling Center is usually a popular place for youth bowlers on the weekends, and it will be that and more over the next three weekends.

    The USBC South Carolina youth bowling tournament will take center stage at the LBC over the next three weekends.

  • Speedway hosting Sprint Cars

     

    The United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder will be at Lancaster Super Speedway on Saturday, April 11.

    The Sprint Cars can reach close to 140-150 mph at the big half-mile dirt oval.

  • Lady Vols runner-up in Aiken...

     The Andrew Jackson Lady Volunteers softball team traveled to Aiken and came away with a solid runner-up finish in the Triple Crown tournament.

    AJ, 13-4, won games 3-1 over White Knoll , 10-0 over Aiken, 2-1 over Midland Valley in the semis and then lost 12-4 to a hot North Augusta team in the title game.

  • Middleton alumni games Saturday

     

    Andrew Jackson softball coach Steve Middleton will host an alumni game for former players who played for coach Middleton at Andrew Jackson High School, 1997-2014.

    Players who played at Buford High School from 1983-1988 and Central from 1988 – 1995 are  urged to attend.
