    Buford dropped a 6-2 home loss to Central of Pageland on Friday, March 21.

  • Carolina Marlins open title...

     

    The Carolina Marlins are in their third season of play in the Community All-Star Baseball League.

    The Marlins, who went 34-14 last season, captured the 2013 league crown in the league based out of Greenville.

  • LSS set for Carolina Clash

     

    Lancaster Super Speedway is a rather large racetrack, with a large personality. The track has been around since 1954, giving people of the Carolinas central Piedmont 60 years of racing memories.

    If the LSS grandstand could talk, what an amazing story to tell – stories of the hundreds of racers who have performed their talented skills.

  • Jackets have new look for soccer...

     

     

    The 2014 Buford High soccer team sports a different look this season, consisting of only five returning veterans along with a host of players who have been moved up from the 2013 junior varsity team.

  • Lady Vols lace Lady Bruins, 15-7

     

    The Andrew Jackson Lady Volunteers drilled 19 hits on the way to a 15-7 win over Lancaster at the Lady Bruins’ softball field on Thursday, March 20.

    Angela Sims paced the Lady Vols offense with three hits, including a two-run home run, and drove in four runs.

  • Running for Ryan April 5

     

    Top county track honors and a greater awareness of Kleine-Levin Syndrome will be the focus of the eighth annual Running for Ryan event set for Saturday, April 5 at the Lancaster High School track.

    The event, a fundraiser for KLS, is highlighted by the Lancaster County track meet at the LHS facility.

  • Lady Bruins blast York

     

    The Lancaster Lady Bruins notched their first Region III-AAAA softball win, taking a 12-3 home win over York on Wednesday, March 19 at the LHS softball field.

    Summer Clinton, who worked five innings, faced 22 batters and allowed three runs, three hits, a walk and hit a batter. She fanned two.

  • Lady Vols booters off to solid...

     

    KERSHAW – Andrew Jackson High School girls’ soccer team has started the 2014 campaign with a 4-0 record, including three shutouts, and is looking to continue their success after last season’s 19-4 run and Class AA Upper State playoff berth.

  • Hopes high for LHS girls

     

    Second-year Lancaster High School girls soccer coach Ed Humphrey is confident his Lady Bruins’ team can produce more success than his first squad.

    The 2013 team went 7-11, including a 5-9 mark in region play, but began making key strides at the end of last season.

  • Speedway's annual car show...

     

    Lancaster Super Speedway, opening its 60th season of dirt track racing, cranks up the 2014 action Saturday, March 22 with its annual car show and practice at the track.

    The car show, a fan favorite each season, is in the track parking lot from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Judging is at noon.
