  • LHS golf team wins, hosts region...

    The Lancaster High School golf team capped regular-season play with a 9-3 record after defeating Region III-AAAA foe Northwestern High School at Watorford Park Golf Club in Rock Hill.

    LHS carded a 169 to Northwestern’s 229.

    The LHS girls were led by Alexandria McCain and Emily Cox, who each posted a 40. Carly Funderburk notched a 44 and Ina Roberts had a 45.

    Rachel Hovis had a 48 and Carley Snyder posted a 53.

  • LHS Bruins to host region golf...

    First-year coach Scott Roberts has led the Lancaster High School girls golf team to an 8-3 mark in its fourth year of play.

    The 2011 LHS girls team will host the Region III-AAAA tournament Monday at the Lancaster Golf Club.

  • Truesdale triggers IL win

    INDIAN LAND – Indian Land High senior ace Rondreas Truesdale scored six touchdowns to lead the No. 7 Warriors to a 42-33 victory over Andrew Jackson in the opening game of Conference IV-AA play for both teams.

    Truesdale rushed for 246 yards on 32 carries. He ran for five touchdowns and had a key 35-yard pick-six for the Warriors in the pivotal third quarter.

    The fast-starting Volunteers bolted to a 17-0 lead in the first half, beginning with a seven-play, 55-yard drive.
