  • Big cheer for BHS Jackets

     


    Buford didn’t post a win on the field Friday night during the 10th annual Founders Kickoff Classic at BHS’s Jackets Stadium, but the home team had something to cheer about.

  • Swimmers upbeat about new season

     

    Hopes are high for the 2013 Lancaster High School swim team.

    The team, led by co-head coaches Midenna Anderson and David Taylor, sport 29 returnees back from the 2012 LHS squad which went 9-2.

  • BHS hosts Classic tonight

     BUFORD – Buford High School’s Jackets Stadium will be a hub of high school football activity tonight as the 10th annual Founders Kickoff Classic unfolds.

    Buford High, site of the first Classic, will host four clashes which open with Class AA Central High School of Pageland meeting Class AAAA foe Fort Mill at 6 p.m.

  • Clash draws elite field

     

    The Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series is set to invade the famous half-mile oval of Lancaster Super Speedway on Saturday night, Aug. 24.

    The race pays $4,000 to win and is round 1 of the Roush Yates Performance Products and JE Pistons Countdown To The Cup Championship Chase.

  • Rain hampers jamborees

     

    Mother Nature, in the form of rain, held the upper hand in a pair of jamborees involving county teams over the weekend.

    Rain washed out action in the annual Camden Shrine Jamboree at Camden’s Zemp Stadium on Friday night when Buford and Andrew Jackson were slated to be in action.

  • 6th Family Promise tourney reset

     

    Area golfers who want to play in the sixth annual Family Promise of Lancaster County golf tournament can still register to play in the 18-hole event.

    The tournament was scheduled to be played Saturday, Aug. 17, but postponed to Saturday, Aug. 24 because of rain.

  • LSS to host Carolina Clash

     

    Lancaster Super Speedway will be invaded by the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series with $4,000 to win on the line on Saturday, Aug. 24.

  • Cycs rally, trip Bruins

     

    CHESTER – Lancaster came out strong, but the Chester Cyclones proved to be a force in capping the Chester Jamboree with a 14-3 win over the Bruins on Friday, Aug. 16 at Chester High School Stadium.

    Lancaster County high school football teams launch jamboree play with the four teams playing in three different jamborees this weekend.

    Buford and Andrew Jackson will play in the annual Camden Shrine Jamboree at Camden’s Zemp Stadium tonight.
