  • Six repeat winners for junior...

    Six junior golfers repeated as winners in their respective age group during the Lancaster chapter of the S.C. Junior Golf Association’s second tournament at White Plains Golf Club in Pageland on Monday, June 17.

    The repeat winners included Logan Sowell, Brady Hinkle, Samantha Melton, Emily Cox, Haley Thurmond and David Oliver.

  • Bobby Dukes to receive soccer...

    Irmo High School soccer star Bobby Dukes will be among the state’s 2013 high school spring sports stars to be honored today, Sunday, June 23, at the annual banquet at Seawell’s Restaurant in Columbia.
    Dukes, a former Lancaster High School student, played three seasons of soccer at Irmo High School in the Palmetto State’s Midlands after transferring from LHS.

  • Makos top Kershaw to even record

    The Lancaster Makos evened their summer swim season record at 2-2 after an incomplete meet against Kershaw’s Stingrays on Thursday.

    The two teams were unable to complete the meet due to the weather, but both teams decided to call the meet and keep the score of 113-89.

  • Tigers take win over Camden

    The Lancaster Tigers topped Camden, 334-240 in a recreation swim meet at Camden on Saturday, June 15.

    The Tigers were led by Simon Wright, Charlee Brooke Henry, Samuel Page and Lauren Spencer who had four firsts apiece in the team’s 94-point victory.

    The Lancaster American Legion Post 31 juniors baseball team rebounded on the road Wednesday, June 19 when they posted a doubleheader sweep of Clover Blue Post 38.

    u The Darlings regular-season champions included Comporium out of Buford for the National League. Morphis Pediatrics out of Buford won the American League crown.

    The Lancaster Post 31 junior Legion baseball team couldn’t protect a 3-1 lead and Rock Hill rallied to post a 10-3 comeback victory in League V play Monday, June 17 at Eggleton Field.
