  • Vols hopeful for hoops

     

    KERSHAW – The AJ Lady Vols hope experience leads to a banner hoops campaign this season, while the AJ boys are bidding to overcome youth.

    The 2013-14 Andrew Jackson Lady Vols are the preseason pick of the Region IV-AA coaches to capture the league title.

  • Riggins posts first hole-in-one

     Former Lancaster High School golf standout Wil Riggins posted his first-ever hole-in-one while playing the Mountaintop Golf and Lake Club in Cashiers, N.C., on Oct. 16.

    Riggins’ ace came on No. 14 where he used a nine-iron on the 144-yard, par-three hole.

    The South Eastern Crate Association (SECA) is proud to welcome Lancaster Speedway to the SECA family for the 2014 racing season.

    The rich racing history and memories of the “Fastest half mile dirt track in the South” date as far back to the opening year of 1954.

    The Warriors downed North Central, 58-21, but dropped a 45-25 loss to Hartsville.

    KERSHAW – With early-season county hardwood bragging rights on the line, rivals Lancaster and Andrew Jackson each had reason for a hoops boast Friday, Dec. 6 in the AJ gym.

    The Lady Vols garnered a solid win in the varsity opener, downing the Lady Bruins, 53-46.

    The South stars opened play in the best-of-three tournament with a 4-2 win over the North at the Buford Recreation Complex field on Monday, Dec. 2.
