    BUFORD – The Buford Yellow Jackets looked to get back in the win column Friday night as they hosted Region IV-AA heavyweight Central High School of Pageland.

    The Jackets entered the game with a 3-3 record overall, but are 3-1 when holding their opponents under 100 yards rushing.

    A host of Lancaster County prep basketball players has been selected to participate in the S.C. Basketball Coaches Association Elite Camp this weekend.

    The boys players will meet at Ridge View High School on Saturday, Oct. 12, while the girls are slated to report for the one-day session on Sunday, Oct. 13.

     KERSHAW – Andrew Jackson High School senior player Jared Hayes sees action on both sides of the football, but given the choice, he prefers the defense.

    So far, the Volunteers linebacker has proven so with a team-leading 60 tackles, two tackles for loss, a fumble recovery and an interception.

    The Falcons soared with their successful air attack to anchor a 42-19 Region III-AAAA football win over Lancaster High School at Nation Ford High School on Friday, Oct. 4.
