    Jeff Reynolds’ return to the Lancaster Golf Club throne had a familiar, dramatic flare Sunday afternoon.A year ago, Reynolds, facing long odds – down four shots in the final six holes, rallied to win in sudden death for his first-ever club championship.Ditto Sunday.Reynolds, down five shots entering the final nine holes, charged late to repeat as the LGC champion with a second straight sudden-death victory.“Jeff just seems to find another gear when it gets real competitive,” Lancaster Golf Club pro Phil Small said.

    An exciting night of racing opened with the young guns main event Saturday night at Lancaster Motor Speedway.An early caution came out when leader Austin Baker and Brandon Blackmon, who was second, were racing hard for the lead and made contact with each other in turn two. Baker pitted and Blackmon was carried off on the wrecker. Baker later returned.When the green flag dropped again, it was Andrew Blackwood leading. Blackwood held on strong and took the win.

    Van Wyck's Shawn Crawford moved one step closer to bringing home another gold medal in the men's 200 meter at the Beijing Olympics.

    Crawford, the reigning 200m Olympic champion, qualified in the first round of competition Monday morning, coming in first in his heat with a time of 20.61. Crawford won the event in the 2004 Athens Olympics with a time of 19.79.

    Former Lancaster Golf Club champion Chris Johnson holds a five-shot lead heading into the final round of the club championship tournament today at the LGC.Johnson, playing from the white tees with the rest of the championship field, shot a sizzling 67 in the opening 18 holes Saturday.“Chris is going to be awful tough to catch with a five-shot lead going into Sunday,” said Fredrick Thomas of the LGC staff.
