The week five Lancaster County high school football schedule features three teams at home, with plenty of eyes focused on the Lancaster-Northwestern game at Memorial Stadium.The non-region clash features a battle of unbeaten teams as each is 4-0.The game also matches a pair of coaches who rank among the state’s best and know each other well.LHS coach Bennie McMurray, a Lancaster native, coached under Trojans’ coach Jimmy “Moose” Wallace when Wallace was the Lewisville Lions’ head coach.

CHESTERFIELD – The Buford Yellow Jackets ventured to Chesterfield this week as they were the showcase opponent for the Rams’ homecoming. A year ago Buford was the victor in their match-up in the rain-plagued “mud bowl,” but that wasn’t the case this time around. Revenge-minded Chesterfield rammed the Yellow Jackets 39-0 Friday.The Rams wasted little time in this one with a quick drive that was capped off with a 12-yard touchdown reception by wideout Josh McCall from quarterback Akeem Johnson.

YORK – Lancaster, in dire need of a late spark, got a dash of offense to lift the unbeaten Bruins to a 28-16 win over York at the Cougars’ Pratt Field on Friday night.LHS senior running back Jamias Clark, who ran for 129 yards and two touchdowns, provided the game’s pivotal run with a determined 53-yard scamper to seal the 12-point win.Lancaster, up 21-0 at the break thanks to a stellar opening half, sputtered offensively in the second half and allowed the pesky Cougars to claw back in the game with a 16-point surge to make it 21-16.Yo
