    The 13th-rated University of South Carolina Lancaster baseball team continued its dazzling diamond play, taking three of four games from the USC Sumter Fire Ants over the weekend.

    The 23-4 Lancers improved to 7-1 in National Junior College Athletic Association Region X play with the three wins, one in extra innings.

    Lancaster High School stars of the hoop, mat and cheer took center stage for the final time at the annual Bruins’ winter sports awards Wednesday night.
    The event, held in the school’s auditorium, was sponsored by the Lancaster Bruins Booster Club.
    LHS basketball star Sindarius Thornwell, regarded as the top junior player in the Palmetto State, led the hoops honorees.

    KERSHAW –  The 15th ranked Lancaster High School girls soccer team stayed unbeaten on the season at 8-0, posting a 10-0 road win over Andrew Jackson at Volunteer Stadium on Friday night.
    The Lady Bruins’ win, their seventh shutout in eighth matches, gave Lancaster a sweep after the LHS boys edged the Vols, 2-1.
    In the opener, Lancaster forged a 5-0 halftime lead and cruised to the win.

  • USCL Lancers sweep Junior Red...

    The University of South Carolina Lancaster baseball team celebrated its first-ever national ranking with a sweep of the Newberry College junior varsity on Thursday at the Lancaster High School field.
    The 13th-ranked Lancers, 20-3, have posted 12 straight wins.
    USCL topped the Junior Wolves, 7-2, 7-3 in the sweep. Earlier this season, the Lancers split a twin bill with the NC jayvees.
    The Lancers laced 11 hits in posting the five-run win in the opener.

    The Lancaster High girls soccer team, 7-0, stayed unbeaten on the season with a 6-0 win over Class AAAA foe Sumter at Memorial Stadium on Wednesday night.
