    Martin, a fan of pro golfer Phil Mickelson, endured a painful experience to recently gain a chance to meet the former Masters champion.

    Martin, a Charlotte native and a Lancaster County EMS paramedic, was working the recent Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Country Club in Charlotte.

    On Friday night, May 2, Lewisville High inducted its first-ever athletic hall of fame class. There were 10 inductees, including five players, three coaches and two teams. The following details the first six in the Lions class. The rest will be in a future edition.

    INDIAN LAND – The Indian Land Warriors “picked it up” and picked apart Mid-Carolina, 7-0 for a Class AA Upper State second-round playoff soccer win over the Rebels at IL’s Warrior Stadium on Friday, May 16.

    Jordan Szustwal sparked the Warriors, 18-5, with three first-half goals for a 3-0 halftime lead. Szustwal tallied two goals on penalty kicks and added the other tally on an assist from Brandon Jacob.
