    Lancaster Super Speedway will host the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series, paying $4,000 to the winner on Saturday, May 31.

    Fans can expect to see some drivers from the Carolinas, Virginia and Georgia competing in this major race at Lancaster Super Speedway.

  • Blues edge Whites, 12-6 in LHS...

     

    The Blue team used a long scoring play and a short TD run to notch a 12-6 win over the White team in the annual Lancaster High School  spring football game on Saturday, May 24 at Memorial Stadium.

    The game marked the start of the coach Bobby Collins era as the Bruins’ head coach.

    INDIAN LAND – A stellar Indian Land High spring sports season, highlighted by the Warriors’ soccer state title run, drew the royal blue and gold spotlight on Monday, May 26 in the IL gym.

    LEXINGTON – The third time wasn’t the coveted state crown for Indian Land as one goal was enough for Academic Magnet School of Charleston.

    In a fierce battle to the wire, Academic Magnet held on for a 1-0 win to hoist the Class AA state championship soccer trophy for the second time in three seasons.

    Timbo Mangum continued his track success with a Late Model win at Lancaster Super Speedway on Saturday, May 24.

    The Late Model Division, formerly known as Limited Late Models, had a front row of  “The Rock Hill Bad Boy” Ben Watkins and Donnie Austin.

  • Vols fifth in Class AA golf

     The Andrew Jackson High School golf team finished the 2014 season with a fifth-place finish at the Class AA state golf championships at Indian River Country Club in Pelion on Tuesday, May 20.

    Bishop England repeated as the Class AA state champions with a two-round total of 609.

    The Bishops’ Jamie Wilson prevailed in a four- way playoff to win individual medalist honors.

  • Trio leads LHS sports awards

    Lancaster High School senior athletes Quinshun “Bubba” Evans and Elizabeth Gaston, earlier in the week, were named Mr. and Miss Bruin, respectively at the LHS Senior Awards.

    On Friday night, May 23 during the Bruins spring sports awards, both were in the blue and gold spotlight again.

  • P-31 seniors rebound with win...

     The Lancaster Post 31 senior team didn’t waste any time getting on track in League V Legion baseball play.

    A night after the P-31 seniors fell to Fort Mill, 10-4, they were able to even their mark at 1-1 with a 4-0 shutout of Clover Post 38 at Clover High School on Thursday, May 22.

    Lancaster P-31 veteran right-hander Jordan Brock had a stellar night on the mound as he struck out 16 Clover batters.

  • P-31 seniors seek repeat as...

     The 2014 Lancaster American Legion Post 31 season marks 71 years of P-31 baseball and the squad is seeking to duplicate what it did last summer.

    The P-31 seniors, who went 12-11 including a 9-3 League V mark, will be seeking to repeat as league champions.
