  • Tri-County coaches honor five county players

     

       

    RICHBURG – A quality quintet of county players earned honors at the weekly meeting of the Founders Federal Tri-County Football Coaches Association meeting on Tuesday.

  • Lancaster High School tennis team splits two matches

    The Lancaster High School tennis team split a pair of Region III-AAAA matches last week.

    The Lady Bruins topped Gaffney, 4-3, but dropped a 7-0 loss to Spartanburg.

  • Truesdale triggers IL win

    INDIAN LAND – Indian Land High senior ace Rondreas Truesdale scored six touchdowns to lead the No. 7 Warriors to a 42-33 victory over Andrew Jackson in the opening game of Conference IV-AA play for both teams.

    Truesdale rushed for 246 yards on 32 carries. He ran for five touchdowns and had a key 35-yard pick-six for the Warriors in the pivotal third quarter.

    The fast-starting Volunteers bolted to a 17-0 lead in the first half, beginning with a seven-play, 55-yard drive.

  • Bengals edge Bruins in double overtime

    BLYTHEWOOD – As if football frustration couldn’t get any higher for the snake-bit Lancaster Bruins, it did Friday night.

    A week after falling to Ridge View, 9-6 when a game-ending end zone pass for the win fell off the hands of the intended LHS receiver, the Bruins endured another tough night in a 24-21 double overtime loss to host Blythewood on the same field where LHS dropped the tough three-point loss to RVHS.

  • Central wins on somber night at BHS

    BUFORD – The defending Class AA state football champion Central Eagles visited Buford High with heart-felt concerns for their gridiron opponent Friday night and left with an unassuming 35-0 win over the host Yellow Jackets.

    The Yellow Jackets took the field just 26 hours after the tragic death of fellow classmate and football player Seth Muennich, a freshman member of the Buford High junior varsity football team.

    Muennich died late Thursday afternoon after he was struck by a car in the area not far from Buford’s Jackets Stadium.

    Five county high school football standouts earned recognition at the weekly meeting of the Founders Federal Credit Union Tri-County Football Coaches Association on Tuesday.

    The Andrew Jackson Lady Volunteers swept county rival Indian Land in the Lady Warriors’ gym to remain unbeaten in Region IV-AA volleyball.

    When Lancaster battles host Blythewood tonight in its final non-region football game of the regular season, Bruins’ senior center Jordan Hamrick will have reached somewhat of a milestone.

  • LHS swimmers sink Ridge View

    The Lancaster High swim team capped regular-season action with a 236-90 win over Ridge View.

    Hannah Jacobs, Bree Morgan and Jory Pettit each had two wins to lead the Bruins.

  • LHS hoops trio set for top 100

     

       

    A trio of Lancaster Bruins basketball standouts will participate in the S.C. Basketball Coaches Association top 100 event to be held Saturday at Keenan High School in Columbia.
