  • Lady Rams foil AJ girls, but Vols win

     

    CHESTERFIELD – The Chesterfield Lady Rams played the hardwood spoiler Tuesday, Feb. 10 when they downed the Andrew Jackson Lady Volunteers in Region IV-AA basketball play.

    AJ girls entered at 13-5, 9-1 in the region.

  • Warriors sweep to wins over Buford

     

    INDIAN LAND – Indian Land stayed in the hunt for a possible Region IV-AA girls basketball crown with a 58-47 win over Buford at the Warriors’ gym on Tuesday, Feb. 10.

    The Lady Warriors’ 11-point win gave the IL girls, 11-6, a 9-2 region mark.

  • Lady Bruins region champs

     

    ROCK HILL – The No. 1 ranked Lancaster Lady Bruins had to work overtime, but it proved hoops fruitful as the LHS girls extended their unbeaten basketball season for a second straight spotless region crown.

  • Lady Warriors net Region IV-AA crown

     

    The Indian Land High Lady Warriors capped their late-season run with a Region IV-AA title, highlighted by a 52-42 win over the Andrew Jackson Lady Volunteers on Thursday, Feb. 12.

    The IL girls of coach Natasha Rogers, 12-6, 10-2, finished strong to secure the win and league crown and a first-round home game in the Class AA Upper State basketball playoffs which open Tuesday, Feb. 17.

  • LHS Lady Bruins capture region crown

     

    The No. 1 ranked Lancaster Lady Bruins had to work overtime, but it proved most fruitful as the LHS girls extended their unbeaten basketball season for a second straight spotless region crown.

    LHS, in an overtime thriller, notched a 55-53 comeback win over fourth-ranked South Pointe to wrap up the Region III-AAA girls basketball championship on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at the SPHS gym.

    Lancaster, 22-0, capped the regular season with a region championship 10-0 record.

    Three Lancaster County girls basketball teams, led by top-rated Lancaster, are among the elite in the S.C. Basketball Coaches Association state polls released this Tuesday, Feb. 10.

  • Warriors’ Rodgers signs to play at Newberry

     INDIAN LAND – Shea Rodgers has kicked his way to college.

    Rodgers, the Warriors’ all-star kicker, is headed to Newberry College to kick for the Wolves’ football team. Rodgers made his college choice official on Wednesday, Feb. 4 – NCAA national signing day – as he signed with the NCAA Division II school.

  • Priester all-star coach

     

    Lancaster High School boys basketball coach Ricardo Priester will be among the state’s hoops elite next month.

    Priester, in his 10th season leading the Bruins, has been selected as an all-star coach for the annual North-South All-Star boys basketball game at Lexington High School on March, 21.
