  • Vols booters blank Jackets

     Andrew Jackson won a soccer battle for county and Region IV-AA pride, posting a 2-0 win over Buford at Jackets Stadium on Thursday, March 27.

    The Volunteers’ first goal came on a Zach Arioli tally off an assist by John Ware. AJ’s second goal was on a free kick by sophomore McKenzie Denkins.

  • Crolley retiring as Crestwood coach

     

    Lancaster native Keith Crolley fell shy in his quest to produce a state championship at Crestwood High School in Sumter County, but he did build a winning program.

    BUFORD – Fall and winter sports stars who produced their share of shining moments for the maroon and gold were honored at the Buford High School fall and winter sports awards on Wednesday, March 26.

  • Volunteers hold off Bruins for win

     

    Andrew Jackson built a 5-1 lead and held on for a 5-3 win over Lancaster to sweep the season baseball series on Wednesday, March 26.

    Buford dropped a 6-2 home loss to Central of Pageland on Friday, March 21.

  • Jackets have new look for soccer season

     

     

    The 2014 Buford High soccer team sports a different look this season, consisting of only five returning veterans along with a host of players who have been moved up from the 2013 junior varsity team.

  • Lady Vols lace Lady Bruins, 15-7

     

    The Andrew Jackson Lady Volunteers drilled 19 hits on the way to a 15-7 win over Lancaster at the Lady Bruins’ softball field on Thursday, March 20.

    Angela Sims paced the Lady Vols offense with three hits, including a two-run home run, and drove in four runs.

  • Running for Ryan April 5

     

    Top county track honors and a greater awareness of Kleine-Levin Syndrome will be the focus of the eighth annual Running for Ryan event set for Saturday, April 5 at the Lancaster High School track.

    The event, a fundraiser for KLS, is highlighted by the Lancaster County track meet at the LHS facility.

  • Lady Bruins blast York

     

    The Lancaster Lady Bruins notched their first Region III-AAAA softball win, taking a 12-3 home win over York on Wednesday, March 19 at the LHS softball field.

    Summer Clinton, who worked five innings, faced 22 batters and allowed three runs, three hits, a walk and hit a batter. She fanned two.

  • Lady Vols booters off to solid start

     

    KERSHAW – Andrew Jackson High School girls’ soccer team has started the 2014 campaign with a 4-0 record, including three shutouts, and is looking to continue their success after last season’s 19-4 run and Class AA Upper State playoff berth.
