  • Braves spear Warriors twice in region play

    INDIAN LAND – Indian Land had a tough night on the hardwood Friday, dropping a pair of Region IV-AA home losses to Cheraw High School.

    The Braves capped the league sweep with a 75-66 win after the Lady Warriors fell to the Lady Braves, 46-30.

    In the nightcap, Cheraw, 13-3, 4-2, took control in the second half, rallying from a 29-all draw at the break.

    The Braves, with a 23-16 run, held a 52-45 lead before posting the nine-point win.

  • Key IL surge nets region mat crown

    Indian Land swept a three-way home match, which was highlighted by the Warriors’ 42-28 win over Central High of Pageland for the Region IV-AA wrestling title Tuesday night.

    The Warriors fell behind the Eagles, 10-0, but rebounded with a key 36-0 surge in posting the 14-point comeback win over the CHS grapplers.

  • LC Stallions sweep to region hoop wins over AJ Volunteers

     

       

    KERSHAW – The Andrew Jackson Volunteers dropped a pair of home games to Lee Central in Region IV-AA basketball play Tuesday night.

    In a hardwood battle of Bruins and Bearcats, Lancaster was the bear.

    The Bruins clawed the Bearcats twice in a Region III-AAAA basketball sweep in the Lancaster High School gym on Tuesday night.

    INDIAN LAND – The Buford Lady Jackets used a swarming defense to deliver a long-sought basketball win.

    The fourth annual Gameday at Doomsday prep baseball jamboree will feature three Lancaster County squads.

    The Buford High School wrestling team made the most of some limited numbers as the Yellow Jackets placed fourth in the annual Redhawk Duals at Monroe High School (N.C.) on Saturday.

    KERSHAW – The Andrew Jackson Lady Volunteers kept pace in the Region IV-AA basketball race with a solid win Friday night.
    The Lady Vols, 10-6, 3-1, had a slow start, but steadily gained steam to post a 66-48 win over the Central Lady Eagles.
    AJ’s 18-point victory gave the Vols a split as the boys dropped a 75-65 loss to the Eagles in the nightcap.

  • Defense delivers LHS region win over Clover

    Fourth-ranked Lancaster High School has had its share of nights where the Bruins’ offense has been on, but on Friday night the smothering LHS defense was the difference.
    The Bruins, with a stifling defensive effort, rolled to a 55-42 Region III-AAAA basketball road win over Clover.
    LHS, 17-1, 3-1, jumped to a 17-7 first-period lead on the way to a 31-22 halftime edge on the Blue Eagles.

  • Warriors' charge nets mat win over Jackets

    Indian Land used a late surge to post a 43-16 wrestling home win over Region IV-AA and county rival Buford High School on Tuesday.

    The Warriors, 12-10, outscored the Jackets, 29-4, in the final six weight divisions to take the 27-point win.
