  • LHS girls soccer team

     

       

    The Lancaster High girls soccer team, 7-0, stayed unbeaten on the season with a 6-0 win over Class AAAA foe Sumter at Memorial Stadium on Wednesday night.

  • Vols’ rally falls short in home loss to Stallions

    Andrew Jackson fought back from an early 13-0 deficit and made it interesting in a 17-12 loss to Class AAA South Pointe High of Rock Hill on Monday night.

    The Stallions led 16-1 after two innings, but the Volunteers ignited and battled to the end.

  • Experience key for Lady Bruins’ soccer

    The Bruin soccer ladies are led by a strong senior class that has been in the program since they were seventh graders.
    Many started, or saw valuable varsity experience when they were freshmen and sophomores.
    Good results are expected this season from the senior class that is led by captains, Sedona Smith, a striker, and Ashley Cauthen, a midfielder.
    Joining these captains are Mallory Blackmon on defense, Morgan Farrar on defense, Mary Beth White at midfield, Lauren White, a striker, and Jada Brice, a back-up keeper.

    Lancaster prevailed in a high-scoring non-region game with Andrew Jackson, taking 13-8 win over the host Vols on Friday night.
    The five-run win pushed the Bruins’ diamond mark to 5-1.
    C.D. Pelham, one of three pitchers used by the LHS, was the winner in four innings of relief work. Pelham, who has a win and two saves, allowed no hits and struck out 11. He gave up one run.

    The 2012 boys Bruin soccer team is comprised of upperclassmen with years of experience playing with each other.

  • Lady Vols top Lady Bruins, 2-1

    Andrew Jackson, fresh off capturing the Lancaster County Classic preseason softball tournament championship, downed county rival Lancaster, 2-1 at the LHS field on Tuesday night.

    Angela Sims’ second-inning two-run double proved to be the difference for the Lady Vols in the one-run win.

    BUFORD – The stars of Buford High School winter sports nights took center stage at the annual BHS winter sports awards Monday night in the school’s auditorium.
