  • Warriors spear Cyclones

    CHESTER – The Indian Land Warriors have played a challenging preseason basketball schedule to prepare for competitive play in Region IV-AA.

    It’s been tough, but in their final game before embarking on region play this week, Indian Land’s boys came up big in a road game with Class AAA Chester High School.

    Seven Andrew Jackson High School football standouts have been named to the All-Region IV-AA team.

  • Lady Jackets hold off Rams

    BUFORD – The Buford girls prevailed in a thriller to push their hoops mark to 9-1 with a last-second win over Chesterfield on Friday night at BHS.
    The Lady Jackets’ 43-42 win gave Buford a split after the Jackets fell to the Rams in the nightcap.
    The Lady Jackets, with their fourth straight win, used key defense and clutch free throws to take the one-point win.
    Hannah Knight hit three of four free throws in a seven-second span to give the Lady Jackets a 43-39 lead with 12.6 seconds to play.

  • Volunteers take pair from Panthers

    KERSHAW – Andrew Jackson capped non-region play, posting a home sweep of Class A foe McBee High School on Friday night.
    The AJ girls, with a strong second-half effort, rolled to 52-37 win over the Lady Panthers.
    The Vols completed the sweep with a 63-37 victory over the Panthers in the nightcap.
    AJ, boosted by the play of sophomore guard Dustin Eddins who netted a game-high 23 points, forged a 35-19 halftime lead on the way to the 26-point win.

  • Thornwell's record effort keys Bruins

    CHESTER – Second-ranked Lancaster used a record-shattering effort by junior star Sindarius Thornwell to complete a road sweep of Class AAA foe Chester on Friday night.
    Thornwell, regarded as the top junior player in the state, scored a school-record 47 points to pace the 14-1 Bruins to a 90-49 win over the Cyclones.
    The LHS girls opened the varsity twin bill with a 56-45 win over the Lady Cyclones.

  • IL Warriors honor fall sports standouts

    INDIAN LAND – Fall’s finest took the spotlight at the annual Indian Land High School fall sports awards night Thursday evening in the school gym.
    A host of fall sports standouts were honored for their play during the season.
    The Indian Land High School football awards were led by record-setting senior quarterback Rondreas Truesdale, the state’s top rusher (2,120 yards)who earned the team MVP.

  • Warriors sweep to wrestling wins

     

       

    The Indian Land Warriors’ wrestling team opened the second half of its season with a sweep of Charlotte, N.C., area foes Myers Park and Providence on Tuesday night.

  • Lady Jackets rips Lions, go to 8-1

     

       

    The surging Buford High girls basketball team continued their stellar play, rolling to a 43-20 win over Lewisville at BHS on Wednesday night.

  • Bruins lasso Stallions

    The Lancaster Bruins launched the 2012 portion of their basketball schedule with a sweep of visiting Class AAA South Pointe on Tuesday night.

  • Jackets land eight on all-region football team

     

       

    Buford High School landed eight standout players on the 2011 All-Region IV-AA football team.

    The Yellow Jackets  were led by senior two-way standout Marcus Brown, a North-South All-Star game pick.
