  • County teams battling for Classic crown

    Four Lancaster County high school softball teams advanced to the championship round in the third annual Lancaster County Classic.
    The four Lancaster County schools were slated to meet at the Buford High School softball field on Saturday for four games to decide the champion.
    Lancaster, which won its pool, faced Indian Land in the Saturday opener, followed by Andrew Jackson against Buford, a pool champion. Indian Land and AJ finished as the pool runner-up teams.

  • Lady Bruins roll in tourney play

    The Lancaster Lady Bruins, with two impressive wins, look to be on their way to a fourth preseason girls soccer championship.
    The Lady Bruins, who have won three straight Cyclone Cup titles in Chester, played host to their own tournament and rolled to big wins Thursday and Friday.
    Lancaster opened play Thursday with a 7-0 victory over York and then rolled to an 8-0 win over Lugoff-Elgin.

  • Lady Bruins’ hopes are high for softball season

    Hopes are high for the 2012 Lancaster Hgh School Lady Bruins softball season.
    The LHS girls, under the leadership of second-year head coach Kim Perry, return four all-region players from a squad, which went 12-9 and was the district runner-up and also finished as the region runner-up.
    “We’ve been working hard since November,” said Perry, who earned the Region III-AAAA softball coach of the year last season.  “We have a positive feeling about our new season.

  • Bruins stay unbeaten with 8-5 win over Vols

     

       

    The Lancaster Bruins stayed unbeaten in the Comporium Preseason Baseball tournament, taking an 8-5 win over Andrew Jackson on Tuesday night at the Volunteers’ field.

    INDIAN LAND – State wrestling champion Rondreas Truesdale led the honorees at the annul Indian Land High School winter sports awards night Wednesday in the ILHS gym.

    Lancaster, Andrew Jackson and Indian Land were the opening day winners in the second annual Comporium Preseason Baseball tournament at Buford Park on Saturday.

  • Junior Lady Jackets capture Lancaster County Classic

    The Buford High School Junior Lady Jackets captured the Lancaster County Classic junior varsity softball tournament at BHS on Saturday.

    Buford defeated Central of Pageland 4-0 and Lancaster 7-0 in pool play. The Junior Lady Jackets then defeated Nation Ford 10-4 in bracket play, then Central 12-0.
