  • Middleton set to retire

     

    One of South Carolina’s top high school softball coaches will be in his final season with the 2015 campaign.

    Andrew Jackson High School coach Steve Middleton, ranked third in the state in all-time prep softball wins, has announced his retirement with the 2015 Lady Volunteers’ softball season.

  • Vols drill Rams twice in region hoops play

     

    KERSHAW – Andrew Jackson came on strong in each game to notch a solid Region IV-AA sweep in the Volunteers’ gym on Friday, Jan. 16.

    The Lady Vols, ranked eighth in the latest Class AA girls state poll, rolled to a 65-24 win over the Chesterfield Rams in the varsity opener.

  • Bruins cruise in sweep of Red Devils

     

    The Lancaster Bruins, since returning to the hardwood to open the 2015 portion of their hoops slate, have played well.

    LHS, squaring its overall mark at 8-8, posted the team’s fourth straight win, including a 3-0 Region III-AAA record.

  • Fast finishes fuel IL sweep

     

    BUFORD – Indian Land used fast finishes to fuel a Region IV-AA basketball sweep of host Buford High School on Friday, January 16.

    The Warriors, in both games, came on strong to secure tough wins over the rival Yellow Jackets.

  • Lady Vols edge Cheraw girls, stay unbeaten in region play

     In a pair of Region IV-AA games which went to the wire, Andrew Jackson split its road games with Cheraw High on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

    AJ girls coach Dennis Farmer said the Cheraw girls would be very quick, aggressive, athletic and a challenge for the eighth-ranked Lady Volunteers.

  • Lady Jackets’ fast start keys victory

     

    BUFORD – The Buford High girls, ranked No. 9 in the latest Class AA poll, continued their stellar region play, rolliing to a 64-38 win over Central of Pageland at CHS on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

    The Lady Jackets’ 26-point win gave BHS a split of the region twin bill.

  • Warriors roll in home sweep of NC Knights

     

    INDIAN LAND – Indian Land rolled in a Region IV-AA basketball sweep of North Central in the Warriors’ gym on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

    The IL girls, 5-4, 4-0, opened the twin bill with a 73-43 win over the North Central girls.

  • Bruins take 2 from Cycs

     

    The Lancaster Lady Bruins, in their first game as Class AAA’s top-rated girls basketball team, showed why on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

    The Lady Bruins launched a second straight LHS hoops sweep with a 56-41 win over the Chester girls.

  • Stallions capture Warrior Duals

     

    South Pointe High School of Rock Hill capped an unbeaten mat run with a 46-27 win over White Knoll to win the 2015 Warrior Duals at Indian Land High School on Saturday, Jan. 10.

  • Lady Bruins hoops hoopla

     The Lancaster Lady Bruins are tops in Class AAA girls basketball.

    The LHS girls, rated No. 2 in the first 2015 poll of the 2014-15 S.C. Basketball Coaches Association state rankings, are now on top.
