    Buford High stayed unbeaten in postseason Class AA Upper State District III baseball play, while Indian Land stayed alive in the playoffs.

    Buford earned a Class AA Upper State district tournament title game bid with a 9-4 road win over Region III-AA champion Pelion on Saturday, May 3.

  • Warriors’ McCall signs with Wingate

    INDIAN LAND – Indian Land High School senior basketball player Leander McCall IV made Warriors’ hoops history Friday, May 2 in the ILHS media center.

    McCall, with his signing with the Wingate University Bulldogs, became the first IL boys basketball player to sign with a NCAA school, according to ILHS school and athletic officials.

  • Andrew Jackson booters blank FCHS

    Andrew Jackson was scheduled to face York Comprehensive on Wednesday, April 30, but the match was cancelled due to pending bad weather.

    Fairfield Central’s Griffins did come to play Thursday, May 1 at AJ.

    The Griffins had a busy week, losing to Indian Land 5-0 on Tuesday and to Buford, 2-1 on Wednesday.

  • Lady Vols smash Shamrocks in playoffs

    Andrew Jackson blasted Eau Claire of Columbia, 26-0 top open the Class AA Upper State District IV softball playoffs on Thursday, May 1 at AJ.

    Lady Vols’ hurler Lindsey Robinson, 4-3, tossed a perfect game as she struck out 15 of 15 Lady Shamrocks batters she faced. Robinson ripped a triple to back her cause in the lopsided win.

    Cassidy McKittrick rapped four hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs.

  • Buford and IL face playoff foes

    Buford downed North Central 9-5 to open the Class AA Upper State District III baseball playoffs on Thursday, May 1 at Buford Park.

    The Jackets ignited for 10 hits, with senior Kholby Pate pacing the

    winners with two hits, a RBI and two runs scored. Evan Flynn had two hits and scored a run.

    Buford earned a Class AA Upper State district tournament title game bid with a 9-4 road win over Region III-AA champion Pelion on Saturday, May 3.

    BHS, which defeated North Central, 9-5 to open the playoffs on Thursday, May 1, will be at home to face the IL vs. Pelion winner for the district crown. Buford will need one win Wednesday, May 7. If the Jackets fall in game one, they will play a second game Wednesday at Buford Park.

  • Warriors booters edge LHS Bruins, 3-2

     

    Second-ranked Indian Land improved to 15-3 on the season with a 3-2 win over Class AAAA county rival Lancaster at Warrior Stadium on Wednesday, April 30.

    IL’s Zac Patterson, Garrett Gerdes and Joseph Parsons each tallied a goal to lift the Warriors to the win over the Bruins.

    Lancaster High School senior football player Austin Franceschelli has used a stellar combination of brains and brawn to take his game to the next level.

  • Davis signs with SMC Pioneers

     

    It didn’t take long for Lancaster High School Lady Bruins’ senior basketball player Aliyah Davis to realize Spartanburg Methodist and the Pioneers’ women’s basketball program was in her future.

  • Lady Bruins, Lady Vols to host second round playoff games

    Lancaster and Andrew Jackson Jackson softball teams will be in the host role for second round playoff games.

    The LHS girls, rebounding from a 3-0 road loss to Mauldin, will be at home Friday, May 2 to face Dorman in a 6 p.m. elimination game.

    Dorman dropped a 4-2 loss to Easley on Thursday, May 1 in the first round of the Class AAAA Upper State softball playoffs.

    Andrew Jackson, the Region IV-AA regular-season champion, will host the Buford-North Central winner on Saturday, May 3 at 3 p.m.
