The Andrew Jackson Lady Volunteers used a clutch long ball to take an 8-7 softball win over county rival Lancaster High School at the LHS field on Thursday night.
AJ, coming off a Region IV-AA loss to Cheraw, trailed 4-1 after three innings, but the Lady Vols rallied to take a 6-4 lead in the top of the sixth inning.
Lancaster, unbeaten on the season coming into the game, rallied to tie the game at 6-all.
In the top of the seventh, the visiting Lady Vols struck for two runs which gave them the win.
