    The Indian Land Warriors picked up the pace in the second half to earn the right to host the Class AA Upper State title match on Tuesday night.

  • Warriors returning to AA state title match

    The Indian Land Warriors are returning to the Class AA state championship soccer match.

    The 19-4 Warriors built a 2-0 halftime lead and added a second-half goal to capture their second straight Class AA Upper State championship.

    The Warriors, the 2012 state runners-up, will face Class AA Lower State champion Bishop England at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at Gilbert High School.

    Bishop England, 16-7, edged Academic Magnet for the Lower State title, prevailing 3-1 in penalty kicks.

  • Robinson 4th in discus at state meet

     

       

    Lancaster High School sophomore field events standout Yasmine Robinson turned in her personal-best effort to place fourth in the Class AAAA state meet at Lower Richland High School in Hopkins on Friday, May 10.

  • Crescent ends Buford's season

    Buford High’s run to the Class AA Upper State softball championship was halted on Friday, May 10.

    Crescent High School of Iva, 23-5, blanked the Lady Jackets, 10-0 in six innings.

    KERSHAW – The Allen University men’s basketball team was looking to fill a need and Andrew Jackson High School senior hoops standout Avalon Truesdale was the answer.

    Indian Land High School’s boys soccer team, 17-4, posted a 6-1 Class AA Upper State playoff win over Landrum High School on Thursday, May 9.

  • Lady Jackets stay alive with road victory

    The Buford Lady Yellow Jackets hit the road again Thursday in hopes of continuing their postseason run in the Class AA Upper State softball playoffs.
    The Lady Jackets, who captured the district softball title, downed Pendleton, 12-6 in a Class AA Upper State championship round elimination game on Wednesday, May 8.
    Buford, which was rained out with Pendleton on Monday night at PHS, made a trip to Pendleton on Tuesday when the game was played, but not completed.
    The game Tuesday was rained out in the top of the fifth inning with the game tied at 4-all.

  • Lady Warriors top Lady Vols, advance

    INDIAN LAND – Indian Land forged a 2-0 halftime lead on the way to a 3-0 Class AA Upper State playoff win over county and Region IV-AA foe Andrew Jackson on Wednesday, May 8.
    The Lady Warriors, 13-4, received three goals from Shalyn Dougherty who scored in the 21st minute, 26th minute and 44th minute.
    Dougherty was assisted by Raquel Addamo, Kayla Groll and Katherine Kilroy.
    Indian Land had 18 shot to five for the Lady Vols.
    Indian Land’s Isabella Maia, who notched the shutout, had three saves.

  • Buford blanks Griffins, faces Pendleton

    Buford opened the Class AA Upper State soccer playoffs with a 4-0 win over Fairfield Central.
    The 13-4 Jackets, the No. 5 seed in the Upstate, held a 2-0 lead at the half.
    Junior Andrew “Red” Ellis scored first in the 15th minute on an assist from senior Trey Starnes. Senior James Shehane scored his first career goal in the 29th minute on an unassisted shot from the edge of the 18-yard box. Keeper Corey Bracey had 3 saves in the first half.
