  • Bruins sweep FM, boost playoff hopes

    The Lancaster Bruins kept their Class AAAA Upper State basketball playoff hopes alive with a pair of wins in Region III-AAAA play Tuesday, Jan. 29.

    The LHS girls, 6-5, 8-10, rallied for a 43-39 win over Fort Mill in the opener and the Bruins capped the sweep with a 64-56 win over the Jackets.

  • Warriors, Jackets post solid efforts

    Indian Land and Cheraw each posted five individual winners in the All-Region IV-AA wrestling tournament at Buford High School on Saturday, Jan. 26.

    Buford, which hosted the tournament for the second straight season, registered four winners to earn all-region honors.

    ROCK HILL – Lancaster High’s region road trip to Rock Hill High School was rocky.

     The winter weather, which made for hazardous traveling conditions over the weekend, moved Region III-AAAA officials to reset the season-ending tournament at Rock Hill High School.

  • Winter weather impacts games, matches

    Winter weather played havoc with the Lancaster County high school winter sports schedule for Friday, Jan. 25.

    Prep basketball games, due to hazardous road conditions with a mid-afternoon winter storm, involving all county teams were postponed to a later date.

    The Lancaster Bruins' Region III-AAAA road game with Rock Hill was reset to Saturday, Jan. 26 at the RHHS gym.

    The girls game tips off at 6:30 p.m., with the boys game at 7:45.

  • Vols notch sweep of Eagles

    Andrew Jackson, in much the same fashion in both games, ignited in the second half to notch a Region IV-AA basketball sweep of rival Central High of Pageland in the Eagles gym on Tuesday, Jan. 22.
    The Vols spurted late in each game to cap the sweep in Pageland.
    The AJ boys, 11-6, 3-2, earned a 77-61 win and the Lady Vols posted a 68-60 victory over the Lady Eagles.
    In the nightcap, Central stayed close for the better part of the game, but the Vols, with a 26-18 charge, notched the 16-point win.
    AJ used a 16-8 burst to forge a 67-51 lead on a Cameron McIsaac bucket to take control.

  • Bruins solid in sweep of Eagles

     

       

    After a pair of tough road region losses to Northwestern on Friday, Jan. 18, the Lancaster Bruins returned home to get back on track in Region III-AAAA hoops play.

  • Warriors, Jackets split

    BUFORD –  The Indian Land Warriors stayed unbeaten in Region IV-AA basketball play, rolling to an 87-55 win over Buford on Tuesday, Jan. 22 in the BHS gym.

    The sixth-rated Warriors, 14-2, 5-0, used a fast start to notch the 32-point win.
