    INDIAN LAND – Indian Land held on for a split of a non-region twin bill with Class AAA foe Chester on Monday, Dec. 10.

    The Warriors, 6-1, topped the Cyclones in the nightcap when it took an 89-80 comeback win.

  • Bruins move mat mark to 4-1

    The Lancaster Bruins’ wrestling team, after dropping their first loss, rebounded with three straight wins to push their record to 4-1 on the season.

    The LHS wrestlers defeated Blythewood, 57-18 and then swept a home tri-match with Lewisville and Parkwood.

    Buford’s late flurry wasn’t enough as the Jackets dropped a 41-39 loss to Class AAA Hartsville at the BHS gym on Thursday, Dec. 6.
    BHS closed the match with three straight wins, but it wasn’t enough to earn the comeback victory over the Red Foxes.
    “It was an even match and they just had a few more points than we did,” Buford High coach John Mahaffey said. “I was proud of our effort and our senior leadership has been outstanding from the start.”

    Buford swept a non-region twin bill from visiting McBee on Friday, Dec. 7.
    The Jackets posted a 53-39 win after the Lady Jackets edged the Lady Panthers, 44-43.
    In the boys game, Buford, 2-3, built an early lead and stayed in control for the 14-point win over the Panthers.
    The Jackets opened up a 13-10 lead after one period and used a 17-11 spurt in the second quarter to forge a 30-21 halftime spread.
    BHS built a 41-29 lead after three before taking the victory.

    Lancaster County will have representation in the 64th annual North-South All-Star football game at Myrtle Beach’s Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 8.

  • Buford Jackets sweep to mat wins over AJ, NC

     

       

    Buford posted a pair of wins over Class AA mat foes, downing North Central, 42-34 and Andrew Jackson 71-6 on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

    In the win over the Knights, the Jackets bolted to a 30-6 lead and held on for the eight-point win.

  • Bruins net revenge win over Bengals

     

       

    The Lancaster Bruins gained some hardwood revenge on Tuesday night.

    A week after falling to Blythewood, 54-43 in the Bengals’ gym, the Bruins posted a 66-51 win over the BHS boys.
