  • Buford wins, now 22-0

     The Buford Yellow Jackets capped a perfect regular season – 22-0, 12-0 – with a 12-1 baseball win over Central of Pageland at the CHS field on Monday, April 27.

    Jackets’ senior right-hander Evan Flynn worked four frames in the win, which was halted in the fifth frame due to the mercy rule.

  • Warriors rally, down Vols for region soccer crown

     

    Host Indian Land rallied from an early 3-0 deficit to take a 5-4 win over Andrew Jackson at IL’s Reservation on Friday, April 24.

    AJ came out strong to build a 3-0 edge.

  • AJ Vols golfers extend unbeaten mark

     

    The unbeaten Andrew Jackson High School Volunteers golf team, 18-0, 14-0, won its final road match on Thursday, April 23 with a victory over Class A foe Great Falls.

    AJ junior ace Logan Sowell finished with a two-over 38 to take medalist honors.

  • Vols blank Warriors, notch second

     

    INDIAN LAND – The Andrew Jackson High School baseball team, in impressive fashion, sealed the Region IV-AA runner-up spot with a 12-0 league win over Indian Land at the IL field on Friday, April 24.

    AJ senior pitcher Kipp Rollings earned the win in six frames, notching 13 strikeouts and allowing a hit.

  • Vols blank Jackets booters

     

    Andrew Jackson posted a 3-0 Region IV-AA soccer win over county rival Buford High School on Tuesday, April 21 at BHS.

    The first half was a defensive struggle with neither team able to score.

  • AJ Lady Vols notch softball title

     

    KERSHAW – The Andrew Jackson Lady Volunteers softball team captured its fourth consecutive Region IV-AA title, downing North Central, 11-1 at the AJ field Wednesday, April 22.

    The 19-6 Lady Vols scored one in the third after Morgan Hendrix doubled and scored as Kinsley Adams singled to left.

  • SCHSL sets move to five classes

     

    The S.C. High School League, in a landmark move Tuesday, April 21, is going to five classifications for interscholastic competition.

  • Lady Bruins honored at Sports Report awards

     

    The Class AAA state champion Lancaster High School Lady Bruins were in the basketball spotlight, with five team members reaping hardwood honors at the High School Sports Report winter sports banquet on Sunday, April 19 in Columbia.

  • LHS Bruins to host lift-a-thon Saturday

     The Lancaster High School football team will host a team activity Saturday, April 25 with the first Bruins’ lift-a-thon in the LHS gym.

    Each LHS football player is responsible for getting nine people to sponsor him for the bench press contest that day.

  • Lady Bruins sweep Devils

     

    The surging Lancaster Lady Bruins’ softball team beat the rain and visiting Clinton High School on Friday, April 17 at the LHS field.

    Lancaster, just before the evening rain arrived, completed a sweep of the Lady Devils with an 11-0 win.
