    The solid baseball link from Lancaster County to Spartanburg Methodist College now includes a Buford High School connection.

  • Blues edge Whites, 12-6 in LHS spring football game

     

    The Blue team used a long scoring play and a short TD run to notch a 12-6 win over the White team in the annual Lancaster High School  spring football game on Saturday, May 24 at Memorial Stadium.

    The game marked the start of the coach Bobby Collins era as the Bruins’ head coach.

    INDIAN LAND – A stellar Indian Land High spring sports season, highlighted by the Warriors’ soccer state title run, drew the royal blue and gold spotlight on Monday, May 26 in the IL gym.

    LEXINGTON – The third time wasn’t the coveted state crown for Indian Land as one goal was enough for Academic Magnet School of Charleston.

    In a fierce battle to the wire, Academic Magnet held on for a 1-0 win to hoist the Class AA state championship soccer trophy for the second time in three seasons.

    INDIAN LAND – Indian Land High School soccer coach Adam Cole is hoping the third time is the championship.

    The Warriors, in the Class AA state title match for the third straight season, earned their shot with a third-straight Class AA Upper State crown on Tuesday, May 20 at IL’s Reservation.

  • Bruins, Jackets spring games Saturday

     

    Lancaster and Buford, each under new head football coaches, will hold their spring football games Saturday.

    The Lancaster High spring football game is at 3 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

  • Warriors edge Newberry, net Upstate title match bid

     

    INDIAN LAND – In a match of survival and advance, host Indian Land had enough to edge Newberry in the Class AA Upper State semifinals at IL’s Reservation on Saturday, May 17.

    Indian Land posted a solid showing in the Class AA state track meet at Spring Valley High School on Saturday, May 17.

    The Warriors, aided by a state runner-up finish, finished 18th in the 36-team field with 13 points.

    On Friday night, May 2, Lewisville High inducted its first-ever athletic hall of fame class. There were 10 inductees, including five players, three coaches and two teams. The following details the first six in the Lions class. The rest will be in a future edition.

  • IL Warriors rout Rebels

    INDIAN LAND – The Indian Land Warriors “picked it up” and picked apart Mid-Carolina, 7-0 for a Class AA Upper State second-round playoff soccer win over the Rebels at IL’s Warrior Stadium on Friday, May 16.

    Jordan Szustwal sparked the Warriors, 18-5, with three first-half goals for a 3-0 halftime lead. Szustwal tallied two goals on penalty kicks and added the other tally on an assist from Brandon Jacob.
