  • Lady Jackets swarm to tourney crown

     

    The Buford Lady Jackets posted two solid wins to capture the Lewisville Invitational at Lewisville High School in Richburg on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

    The BHS girls, who opened with a 50-17 win over Region IV-AA foe North Central High School on Monday, Nov. 24, wrapped up the tournament crown with a convincing 63-20 win over York Prep on Tuesday.

  • Lady Bruins win tourney

     

    The Lancaster Lady Bruins roared with resound to open their 2014-15 basketball season in the Clover Optimist Classic preseason tournament at Clover High School.

    The LHS girls went 3-0 in the field, highlighted by an 86-54 win over Hammond Academy of Columbia in the championship game on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

  • AJ Lady Vols fall to York

     The Andrew Jackson girls team traveled to York for a game with Class AAAA  host York Comprehensive High School in the York Preseason basketball tournament Monday, Nov. 24.

    The game was a tough assignment for the Lady Vols, who dropped a 52-41 loss to the Lady Cougars.

  • Buford High girls down NC in Lewisville tourney

     

    Buford opened play in the Lady Lions Tipoff at Lewisville High School in Richburg with a solid 50-17 win over North Central High School on Monday, Nov. 24.

    The Lady Jackets’ 33-point win earned the BHS girls a berth in the tournament title game on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

  • Panthers sign Robinson

     

    Claflin University assistant softball coach Marty Kinard, the Lady Panthers’ recruiting coordinator, calls CU’s early signees “a great recruiting class.”

  • Anderson signs Gardner

     

    Anderson University is the prime place for Buford High School baseball standout James Gardner.

    Gardner, a three-year starter for the BHS baseball team, made it official Friday afternoon, Nov. 21 in the school’s conference room as he signed to play for the Trojans.

  • Lions’ Sisk signs to play for Cougars

     

    Lewisville baseball coach Billy Keels calls it the “Future Stars Camp” for a reason.

  • County trio set for all-star volleyball play

     

    Lancaster County will have quality representation in the annual North-South All-Star volleyball matches Nov. 20-22 at Erskine College in Due West.

    The county has three representatives in the event, which honors the top senior players and coaches from across the state.

  • Jackets cheerleaders gearing for state field

     

    Buford High School’s cheer competition tradition has added another solid link with the 2014 season.

    The Jackets cheer squad is headed to the Class AA state competition for the eighth time in the last nine seasons.

  • IL Warriors shine in state cross country meet

     

    The Indian Land High School cross country team competed at the SCHSL State Championship on Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Sandhills Research Center in Columbia and fared well in the Class AA state field.

    The Warriors placed 11th out of 24 teams, with the IL girls finishing 10th out of 19 teams.
