CLOVER – The final night of the 2010 Lancaster High School football season was much like the final month of the season.
“Total disappointment,” said a dejected Bruins’ head football coach Bennie McMurray after seeing the Bruins fall to Clover 31-6 at Clover Memorial Stadium.
The finale was much like the previous three weeks – setbacks with a familiar feel – little offensive punch and too much time on the field for the defense.
Three Lancaster County prep football standouts were honored by the Tri-County Football Coaches Association earlier this week.
Lancaster High School’s Daniel Foster was saluted along with Indian Land’s Marc Morris and Chad Thomas.
Foster, a senior defensive lineman, was selected as the Division I Defensive Lineman of the Week in the Bruins’ 21-7 road loss to Spartanburg High School. Foster notched 16 tackles, two sacks and recovered a fumble against the Vikings.
