  • Vols notch two wins over Eagles


    KERSHAW – Andrew Jackson, in a make-up game, came out looking good in a sweep of the rival Central Eagles on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Volunteers’ gym.

    The fifth-ranked Lady Volunteers, with a fast start, cruised to a 74-48 win and the AJ boys capped the hoops broom job in a 58-54 victory over the Eagles.

  • Lady Bruins down Lady Eagles for split

     CLOVER – For the second straight night, the No. 7 Lancaster Lady Bruins overcame a slow start to notch a double-digit region win.

    The LHS girls, up 28-26 at the half, ignited in the third period to take control on the way to a 50-40 road win over Clover.

  • Warriors notch 5 region mat titles


    KERSHAW – Indian Land led the Lancaster County contingent in the All-Region IV-AA individual wrestling tournament with five region champions on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Andrew Jackson High School.

  • Warriors top Jackets twice

     INDIAN LAND – The Indian Land Warriors, in a reset game, took a pair from Region IV-AA and county rival Buford High School on Monday, Feb. 3.

    The game was originally set for Tuesday, Jan. 28, but rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 3 due to the winter storm last week.

  • Warriors sweep Braves in region play


    INDIAN LAND – Indian Land, in different ways, took two on the hardwood from visiting Cheraw High School on Friday, Jan. 31.

    The Lady Warriors, with clutch play in the waning seconds, notched a hard-fought 55-54 comeback win over the Lady Braves.

  • Two county prep coaches calling for Broncos' victory



    The American Football Conference champion Denver Broncos are a narrow pick to win Super Bowl XLVIII, and two Lancaster County prep football coaches say they feel it will go that way.

  • Volunteers solid in sweep of Jackets



    BUFORD – The night belonged to Andrew Jackson as the visiting Volunteers rolled to a pair of Region IV-AA basketball wins over county rival Buford High School on Friday, Jan. 31.

  • Lady Bruins blitz Cats


    The Lancaster Lady Bruins started slow, but picked up steam to remain unbeaten in Region III-AAAA girls basketball play Friday, Jan. 31 in the LHS gym where it prevailed, 55-31.

    The Bruins were solid in their start, but didn’t finish in dropping a 54-45 loss to Rock Hill in the boys game.

  • Weather resets games


    Old Man Winter, in the form of a winter storm, has caused county high school athletic officials to reset a host of contests this week.

    Early week prep basketball and wrestling action was wiped with a winter storm which brought snow and icy road conditions to put play on hold.

  • AJ’s trey


    KERSHAW – When Andrew Jackson High School boys basketball coach Danny Wright summons a McIsaac, he has plenty to choose from this season.

    The Volunteers’ squad sports a unique family trey – the McIsaac brothers, senior twins Cameron and Tanner along with sophomore Austin.
