    ROEBUCK – The Lancaster High boys basketball team’s return to the Upstate was a downer Tuesday night.

  • Lady Bruins to host IL in defense of Chester preseason soccer crown

    The Lancaster High School Lady Bruins, the two-time Chester Preseason Soccer Tournament champions, will open defense of their crown tonight in a match at Memorial Stadium.

    The Lady Bruins will face county rival Indian Land in a 5:30 p.m. match at the stadium to open play in the tournament which features girls and boys teams.

  • Vols, Lions win in Gameday jamboree

    Andrew Jackson and Lewisville were the winners at the third annual Gameday at Doomsday high school baseball jamboree at Lancaster High School last Saturday.

    The AJ Vols blanked Fairfield Central High 11-0, and Lewisville topped the LHS baseball team, 7-5.

  • Warriors whip Wolverines, face Shamrocks

    Home’s been nothing but net – hardwood  success – for the Indian Land Warriors this season.

    The Warriors hope to keep it going one more time this season as they host Eau Claire in the third-round of the Class AA Upper State basketball playoffs Wednesday night at 7.

    A third straight postseason home victory will move the Warriors to a coveted bid to play for the Class AA Upper State playoffs on Saturday at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville.

  • Bruins weather Green Wave, 76-66

    EASLEY – The way Lancaster High sophomore star Sindarius Thornwell saw it,

    he and his Bruins’ teammates had two options – step up, or make strides

    for home.

    “We didn’t want to go home,” said Thornwell, who scored 25 points and

    grabbed 10 rebounds to help the 19-7 Bruins march on with a 76-66 win over host Easley in the Class AAAA Upper State boys basketball playoffs.

    A year ago, Buford and Indian Land wrestlers captured individual state championships at the Class A-AA state wrestling tournament.

    Bruins shoot       to stay alive

    Lancaster ventured to Dorman High School in Spartanburg on Tuesday night for a third-round game with the Cavaliers. The Lancaster vs. Dorman winner advances to the Class AAAA Upper State title game on Friday night at 8:30 to meet the winner of the Irmo vs. Westside game at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville.
