  • LHS swimmers net home victory over South Pointe


    The Lancaster High School swim team moved its mark to 3-0 with a 229.5-108.5 Region IV-AAA win over South Pointe High School of Rock Hill at the Lancaster County pool.

  • New role for AJ’s ‘Rock’


    KERSHAW – This is not the senior season Andrew Jackson High School lineman Mason “Rock” Kirkley envisioned for his final campaign of football.

  • Coaches honor county quintet


    Five Lancaster County prep football players were honored for their week two play at the Tri-County Football Coaches Association meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 9.

    A trio of Indian Land High School players were honored for their play in the Warriors’ 28-23 road loss to Blacksburg.

  • Lancaster High swim team posts two wins


    The Lancaster High School swim team opened the season with a pair of wins in a tri-meet with Midlands foes Ridge View and Blythewood.

    LHS defeated Ridge View 224-67 and Blythewood, 180-137.

  • Teams in host role Friday


    County prep football teams are hoping the home field edge plays a key role in their games Friday night, Sept. 12.

    All four county teams, in contrast to last week when all were on the road, will be in the host role this week.

  • Wildcats hold off Warriors, 28-23

    BLACKSBURG – The margin can often be small, the line thin between winning and losing.

    The Indian Land Warriors found that in their 28-23 road loss to the Blacksburg Wildcats on Friday, Sept. 5, a loss Indian Land coach Mike Mayer called "humbling."

  • Big plays boost Great Falls in 27-24 win over Jackets

    GREAT FALLS – Buford rushed for over 300 yards at Great Falls, but it wasn’t enough to match the Red Devils' big-play offense, which handed Buford its second straight road loss, 27-24 on Friday, Sept. 5.

    The undefeated Red Devils scored three touchdowns off three Buford turnovers to aid their win.

    The first turnover came on the opening snap.

  • Panthers claw Vols, 61-20

    MCBEE – McBee rolled up 518 yards rushing and rolled over Andrew Jackson, 61-20 at the Peach Bowl in McBee on Friday, Sept. 5.

    The game was the proverbial pits for the Volunteers as McBee had the game virtually in hand at the half, 42-6.

  • Lady Bruins making strides in volleyball


    Lancaster High School volleyball coach Betsi O’Shields, in her sixth season leading the LHS team, is encouraged about the 2014 campaign.

    Lancaster sports five returning players from the 2013 team.

  • Watts takes charge in line


    Lancaster High School’s old guy in the offensive line is hoping for a new day.

    Trevin Watts, a four-year LHS varsity member and three-year starter, is shooting for a better finish in his final year with the Bruins.
