  • Eagles soar by Vols, 39-6

    PAGELAND – Central of Pageland continued its mastery over Andrew Jackson, thumping the Volunteers, 39-6 in a Region IV-AA football tilt at Pageland on Friday, Sept. 27.

    Central’s Daquan Baker-Moore and DeVonte Robinson each rushed for over a 100 yards as the Eagles rolled to a 33-6 halftime lead for their 19th straight win over AJ.

  • Knights ground Jackets, 26-7

    BUFORD – North Central’s Knights took away Buford’s game plan Friday night, Sept. 26 and used it for themselves.

    North Central used a solid ball-control ground game that vaulted the Knights to a 26-7 Region IV-AA road victory at Jackets Stadium.

    RICHBURG – The Lancaster Bruins got offensive and got back on track.

    LHS, coming off a 14-0 shutout loss at Camden last week, rebounded with resound on the way to a 56-8 road win over Class A foe Lewisville High School on Friday, Sept. 27.

  • LHS cross country team looking to new runners in fall campaign


    The 2014 Lancaster High School cross country team has its share of new for the fall campaign.

    The Bruins are in a new region after moving from Class AAAA to Class AAA.

  • LHS Bruins basketball trio in Elite 100 Showcase


    A trio of Lancaster High School basketball players will be participating in the Elite 100 Showcase at Meadowcreek High School in Norcross, Ga., this weekend.

    The LHS trio includes junior Qua McCarter, sophomore Nehemiah “Nunu” McGriff and freshman Tybo Scott.

  • Lady Jackets rally to down Lady Vols


    Buford, down 2-0, rallied for three straight wins to defeat county and Region IV-AA rival Andrew Jackson in the BHS gym on Tuesday, Sept. 23.

    AJ opened with two straight wins, 25-21, 25-21 before Buford countered with a 26-24 victory. BHS then prevailed in the fourth set, 25-16 and 15-9 in the decisive fifth set.

    BUFORD – Buford High School football coach Tripp Watts said he sees two sides to Jackets’ senior lineman and two-way starter Autry Blackmon.

    One is the person away from the field.

  • BHS seeking solid start


    The Buford Yellow Jackets are seeking to build on their first win as the Jackets host North Central in their Region IV-AA home football opener Friday night, Sept. 26.

  • LHS nets region win over South Pointe


    The Lancaster Lady Bruins, down 2-0, rallied with three straight clutch wins to post their first-ever volleyball win over Region IV-AAA foe South Pointe of Rock Hill.

    SPHS won 25-17, 25-21 before LHS reeled off three straight, 25-19, 25-13 and 25-5.
