    Host Lancaster posted a pair of wins to highlight play in the 11th annual  Founders Kickoff Classic at Memorial Stadium on Friday, Aug. 22.

    Host Lancaster posted a pair of wins to highlight play in the 11th annual  Founders Kickoff Classic at Memorial Stadium on Friday, Aug. 22.

    The Bruins, buoyed by the big play, rolled to a 35-0 win over Buford, and then rallied to notch a 7-3 comeback victory over Indian Land.

    Three members of the Lancaster High School boys basketball team will be in elite hoops company Saturday.

    Bruins players Nehemiah McGriff, Quasheon McCarter and JiQuarious Stevenson will attend the Clemson basketball Elite Camp at Clemson University on Saturday, Aug. 23.

    The final tune-up for the 2014 Lancaster County high school football season is tonight as Lancaster Memorial Stadium hosts the Founders Kickoff Classic.

    All four county teams will be involved as four different games will be on tap in the closing scrimmages before the season openers next week.

    Buford High School’s Meet the Jackets featured a host of winners, including the annual cow patty bingo.

    Rhonda Ellis won the big prize, taking $500.

    Lancaster County junior varsity football will be center stage when the annual Bear Hug Brawl Junior Varsity Kickoff is played Saturday, Aug. 23 at Buford High School’s Jackets Stadium.

    CHESTER – Lancaster made its share of big plays on both sides of the ball to post a 7-6 win over Class AAAA foe Rock Hill High School in the Chester County High School Jamboree at Chester High School on Friday, Aug. 15.

    The biggest play of the night for the Bruins came on LHS’s third possession after Rock Hill had snapped a scoreless draw for a touchdown and a 6-0 lead.

  • Vols, Jackets fall short in Camden

    CAMDEN – Andrew Jackson spotted Lee Central 13 quick first-quarter points before falling 19-12 in the 39th annual Camden Shrine Club Football Jamboree at  Zemp Stadium in Camden.

    The scrappy Volunteers drove to the Stallions nine-yard line before dropping three potential game-winning touchdowns with a little over three minutes left in the second and final quarter.
