    Indian Land built a 5-0 halftime lead on the way to a 10-0 win over Mid-Carolina in the opening round of the Class AA Upper State girls soccer playoffs on Monday, May 4.

    The Lancaster Lady Bruins softball team will host the Class AAA District IV championship after rallying for a 10-9 win over top-seeded Chapin High School at the CHS Eagles’ field on Monday, May 4.

  • Vols, Jackets seek crowns


    Andrew Jackson stayed unbeaten in the Class AA Upper State District I baseball playoffs with a 4-1 home win over Abbeville on Saturday, May 2.

    The Vols, 14-6, were boosted by an ace pitching effort from right-hander Kipp Rollings, who worked seven frames and struck out seven. He allowed an earned run and five hits.

  • County prep soccer teams launch playoffs


    State championships will be the stakes as eight Lancaster County high school soccer teams open the playoffs Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5.

    The girls open postseason play Monday, May 4, with the boys squads to kick off postseason play Tuesday, May 5.

  • AJ golfers push record to 19-0


    The Andrew Jackson golf team closed out regular season play with undefeated record – 19-0, 15-0 in Region IV-AA after a win over  North Central at Kershaw Golf Club.

    The Vols shot a 158 to North Central’s 216.

  • Jackets, Vols notch wins


    Buford and Andrew Jackson each posted wins to open the Class AA Upper State baseball playoffs on Thursday, April 30.

    The third-ranked Jackets, 23-0, blanked Fairfield Central High School of Winnsboro, while Andrew Jackson topped Pelion at the Volunteers’ field.

  • Warriors top Bruins, 1-0


    Indian Land edged Class AAA rival Lancaster, 1-0 at IL’s Reservation on Wednesday, April 29.

    The Warriors tallied in the first half as Garrett Gerdes scored on an assist from Roscoe Lovejoy on a corner kick. 

  • Lady Vols win track title


    BUFORD – The Andrew Jackson High School Lady Volunteers captured top honors in the Region IV-AA track meet at Buford on Tuesday, April 28.

  • Bruins’ Jackson signs with Benedict


    When it came to selecting a college for her future, there was only one choice for Lancaster High School senior track standout Kaliya Jackson.

    “I visited other schools, but they just didn’t measure up to Benedict,” Jackson said.

  • Jackets, Vols win

    Buford and Andrew Jackson each posted first-round baseball wins in the Class AA district playoffs on Thursday, April 30.

    BHS, 23-0 and rated third in the final regular-season Class AA baseball poll, blanked Fairfield Central High of Winnsboro, 6-0 at Buford Park.

    Gage Hinson hurled the Jackets' win.

    AJ topped Pelion as the Volunteers took a 2-1 win over the Lions, with junior lefty Gunnar Lucas notching the win.
