The Buford Yellow Jackets clicked on the hardwood Monday, Feb. 10 when the BHS boys blitzed the Chesterfield Rams, 76-52 in Region IV-AA basketball play.
The Jackets’ 24-point win gave Buford a split after the Lady Jackets dropped a 35-23 loss to the CHS girls.
The Indian Land wrestling team produced a strong run in the Class A-AA Upper State duals tournament before falling to eventual Class A-AA Upper State champion Liberty, 43-28 at Powdersville High School in Greenville on Saturday, Feb. 8.

INDIAN LAND – The No. 3 Indian Land Warriors, sparked by sophomore point guard Darnell Rogers, rolled to a 102-68 win over Central of Pageland in Region IV-AA play on Friday, Feb. 7.
Rogers hit 44 points to lead the Warriors to the 34-point win.
The Presbyterian College Blue Hose seem to be the right fit for Lancaster High School Lady Bruins’ soccer star Frances Whitesides.
When she visited the Clinton campus, Whitesides liked what PC had to offer.
KERSHAW – Andrew Jackson’s Lady Volunteers made AJ’s annual senior night extra special Friday, Feb. 7.
The No. 5 Lady Vols, 17-3, 8-0, wrapped up the Region IV-AA girls basketball championship with a 58-35 win over the Chesterfield Lady Rams.
The Lancaster Lady Bruins’ 37-26 win over Nation Ford wasn’t a hoops masterpiece, but the effort was more than enough to net a season’s goal – the Region III-AAAA championship.
A night after a tough loss to league unbeaten Indian Land, the Buford Yellow Jackets were on target in a 62-44 region win over Central of Pageland on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at CHS.
The Indian Land Warriors, bidding to net the Region IV-AA boys crown, were on their game Tuesday, Feb. 5 in a 72-38 road win over Chesterfield.
The Warriors’ 34-point victory gave IL a split of the league twin bill.
