The Lancaster Bruins, in different ways, opened the Class AAA Upper State basketball playoffs with wins in the LHS gym on Tuesday night.
The second-ranked Lady Bruins cruised to a 71-48 win and the LHS boys, in comeback fashion, forged a 61-56 win over Wren.
The Lancaster girls, 17-3, were slated to open defense of their Class AAA state title on Monday night at home, but a winter storm stalled those plans to Tuesday night.
Lancaster, once on the floor, rolled to the 23-point win behind senior guard Malia Rivers’ 29 points.
