  • Union halts Lady Bruins title hopes


    UNION – Union County has posted four softball wins over Lancaster this season, with its latest the most significant for the 2015 campaign.

    The Lady Yellow Jackets, 28-2, topped the LHS Lady Bruins, 3-0 Monday, May 18 at the Timken Sports Complex in Union to capture the Class AAA Upper State softball title.

  • Raptors foil Warriors in Class AA state title soccer match


    LEXINGTON – Academic Magnet High School once again foiled Indian Land High School’s Class AA state championship soccer hopes.

    The top-rated Raptors, for the second straight season, prevailed over the fourth-ranked ILHS Warriors in a 4-1 win at River Bluff High School in Lexington on Saturday, May 16.

    KERSHAW – The determined Andrew Jackson Lady Volunteers sent their retiring coach Steve Middleton out a winner at home, and will seek the same for him today as a state champion.

  • Lady Vols face Crescent in AA Upstate title tilt


    Andrew Jackson is a win away from a bid to the Class AA softball state title series.

    The Lady Volunteers of veteran coach Steve Middleton will be at home today at 5 to face Crescent for the Class AA Upper State crown.

  • Lady Bruins host Wren, seek to stay alive


    The Lancaster Lady Bruins’ softball team will have to battle back to stay alive in its quest for the Class AAA Upper State championship and a bid to the state title series.

  • Warriors win Upstate title


    INDIAN LAND – The Indian Land boys soccer team made it four straight for the Class AA Upper State championship as the Warriors rolled to a 4-1 win over Saluda High School at the IL Reservation on Tuesday, May 12.

  • Hinkle-led LHS 4th in Upstate

     The Region III-AAA champion Lancaster High School golf team placed fourth in the 17-team field at the Class AAA Upper State golf tournament at the Cross Creek Country Club in Seneca on Monday, May 11.

    LHS golfer Brady Hinkle shot an amazing 63, one off of the course record, to earn the tournament medalist honor.

  • AJ Lady Vols pace county teams in AA Upstate meet


    Region IV-AA girls track champion Andrew Jackson continued its stellar spring with a host of Lady Volunteers’ athletes shining in the Class AA Upstate qualifier in Columbia on Saturday, May 9.

  • Volunteers stay alive in 4-3 victory


    Andrew Jackson stayed alive in the Class AA Upper State baseball championship series, rallying for a 4-3 home win over Blacksburg High School at the Volunteers’ field on Monday, May 11.

    AJ, with heads-up play, tallied the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning.

  • Lady Bruins rally, top Wren


    Lancaster overcame its share of adversity to rally for a 7-4 extra-inning win over Wren High in the opening game of the Class AAA Upstate title softball series on Monday, May 11 in Piedmont.

    WHS opened an early 3-0 lead, but determined LHS, 16-6, rallied to post the win and stay unbeaten in the double-elimination field.
