  • Faulkenberry leads Vols honorees

    KERSHAW – Orange and White shining moments showcased a host of athletes with AJ senior two-sport star Haley Faulkenberry leading the way at the Andrew Jackson High School All-Sports Awards on Tuesday, May 26 at the Lancaster County Class AA high school.

    Faulkenberry, named the AJ Athlete of the Year, starred in volleyball and softball for the Lady Vols.

    KERSHAW – Just days away from graduation, Andrew Jackson High School senior track standout Kennisha Holmes reflected on her middle school days which had a major bearing on her future.

    Holmes, a star student and athlete at AJ, recalled a Charleston field trip which had a direct impact on her college choice.

    The field trip to the Port City included a stop at The Citadel, the military college of Sout Carolina.

  • BHS spring game unveils new era

     

    A new era in Buford High School football was launched with the annual Jackets’ spring football game.

    BHS first-year coach Tripp Watts was noticably excited to have his squad on the field for the first time.

    The maroon and gold spotlight highlighted a host of Buford High School spring sports standouts at the annual BHS spring sports awards night Tuesday, May 27.

  • Pate to play for Pioneers

     

    The solid baseball link from Lancaster County to Spartanburg Methodist College now includes a Buford High School connection.

  • Blues edge Whites, 12-6 in LHS spring football game

     

    The Blue team used a long scoring play and a short TD run to notch a 12-6 win over the White team in the annual Lancaster High School  spring football game on Saturday, May 24 at Memorial Stadium.

    The game marked the start of the coach Bobby Collins era as the Bruins’ head coach.

  • Warriors soccer leads IL spring sports honors

     

    INDIAN LAND – A stellar Indian Land High spring sports season, highlighted by the Warriors’ soccer state title run, drew the royal blue and gold spotlight on Monday, May 26 in the IL gym.

  • IL falls short in thriller

     

    LEXINGTON – The third time wasn’t the coveted state crown for Indian Land as one goal was enough for Academic Magnet School of Charleston.

    In a fierce battle to the wire, Academic Magnet held on for a 1-0 win to hoist the Class AA state championship soccer trophy for the second time in three seasons.

  • Warriors Upstate champs

     

    INDIAN LAND – Indian Land High School soccer coach Adam Cole is hoping the third time is the championship.

    The Warriors, in the Class AA state title match for the third straight season, earned their shot with a third-straight Class AA Upper State crown on Tuesday, May 20 at IL’s Reservation.

  • Bruins, Jackets spring games Saturday

     

    Lancaster and Buford, each under new head football coaches, will hold their spring football games Saturday.

    The Lancaster High spring football game is at 3 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
