  • County trio set for all-star volleyball play

     

    Lancaster County will have quality representation in the annual North-South All-Star volleyball matches Nov. 20-22 at Erskine College in Due West.

    The county has three representatives in the event, which honors the top senior players and coaches from across the state.

  • Jackets cheerleaders gearing for state field

     

    Buford High School’s cheer competition tradition has added another solid link with the 2014 season.

    The Jackets cheer squad is headed to the Class AA state competition for the eighth time in the last nine seasons.

  • IL Warriors shine in state cross country meet

     

    The Indian Land High School cross country team competed at the SCHSL State Championship on Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Sandhills Research Center in Columbia and fared well in the Class AA state field.

    The Warriors placed 11th out of 24 teams, with the IL girls finishing 10th out of 19 teams.

  • Juniors capture Buford High powder puff win

     

    The juniors captured the annual Buford High School powder puff football game sponsored by the Buford High Future Educators Association.

    In the title game, the juniors defeated the BHS seniors, 31-6.

  • Tri-County honors Collins, Jackson

     

    The success of the 2014 Lancaster High School Bruins’ football team has earned the LHS squad a couple of honors from the Tri-County Football Coaches Association.

    The Tri-County Coaches, in their final meeting of the 2014 season, honored first-year Bruins head coach Bobby Collins and senior defensive back Will Jackson will a pair of honors.

     A.C. Flora High School football coach Reggie Shaw looks for an exciting game Friday night when the Falcons play host to Lancaster in the second round of the Class AAA Upper State football playoffs.

  • CCA Cougars state champs with 14-0 mark

     

    The Carolina Christian Academy men’s volleyball team made history this season as the Cougars fashioned a 14-0 record on the way to the state championship of the S.C. Association of Christian Schools, an association of over 70 schools.

    Sellers, a key contributor on the playoff-bound Indian Land High School football team, is going to go all out.

  • Coaches salute county grid quintet

     

    RICHBURG – Five Lancaster County prep football players were honored for their play in week 10 of the 2014 season at the weekly meeting of the Tri-County Football Coaches Association on Monday, Nov. 3.

  • County duo in playoffs

     

    The “second season” – the S.C. High school playoffs – opens with two county teams set to battle in the postseason on Friday, Nov. 7.

    Lancaster will be at home to face Chapman in the opening round of the Class AAA Upper State playoffs.
