A. R. Rucker coach Ashley Price said the Lady Rams’ 13-0 season was a result of solid teamwork.
“I was very pleased with the season,” Price said. “These girls enjoyed giving an assist as much as scoring points. It was nice to work with girls who worked hard at practice and games,”
The Lancaster County Parks and Recreation Commission 10 under all-stars, girls and boys, will host the state basketball tournament this weekend at the Springdale Rec Center.
The Lancaster teams host two games on Friday. The 6:30 p.m. game has the Lancaster County girls facing East Columbia.
The University of South Carolina at Lancaster baseball team raised its record to 7-4 with a sweep of the Coker College junior varsity on Thursday afternoon at the Lancaster High School baseball field.
The Lancers posted a 7-4 win over the Junior Cobras in the opener and completed the sweep with a 9-3 win over visiting CC.
A lifeguard training course will be held at the Gregory Health and Wellness Center at USCL Prerequisites must be completed by March 24.
Prerequisites schedule is March 7-10 from 3:30 to 5 p.m., or 7-8 p.m., or March 21-24, 7-8 p.m.
The Lancaster County Parks and Recreation Commission will host the U14 Central District tournament this weekend at the Springdale Rec Center. The four-team field opens play Saturday at 10 a.m. when the Lancaster U14 all-stars play. The tourney winner moves to the state field the following weekend.
The University of South Carolina at Lancaster Lancers’ baseball team split a twin bill with the Limestone junior varsity, taking the nightcap 6-3 on Wednesday in Gaffney.
The Lancers, 4-2, dropped the opener to the Junior Saints, 10-7.
The Town of Kershaw is offering a children’s tennis clinic on the newly refurbished town courts near the Kershaw Golf Course.
Clinic instruction will be led by Christie Davis, tennis instructor for the Camden Country Club.
