The USCL Lancer’s softball team opens its 2011 home schedule with four games with Florence-Darlington Tech this weekend.
The Lancers softball team meets the Lady Stingers today at 1 p.m. at the Lancaster High School softball field. Game two is set for 3 p.m. A twin bill is also set for Saturday.
The USCL Lancers will seek to rebound this weekend as they host USC-Salkehatchie on Saturday and Sunday at the Lancaster High baseball field.
USCL, 12-15, 0-8, dropped four games to USC-Sumter last weekend at the LHS field.
The Jones’ siblings capped the indoor track season, gaining national honors with a combined effort reaping 11 medals as they competed as unattached athletes at AAU Southern Indoor National Championship hosted by East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn., on March 4-5.
The 37th annual Universal Martial Arts Championships, held March 12 at the Springdale Recreation Center, continued in the tradition of the tournament.
The event was hosted by Grandmaster James White of Universal Karate studios of Lancaster and the National Universal Karate Association.
The event continued its legacy as one of the Southeast’s top Sport Karate tournaments. It has been called the “battle of the best with capacity attendance.”
Lancaster County swim team registration for the Tigers and Makos teams will be held April 12, 14, 18, 19, 25 and 28 at the Lancaster County Parks and Recreation Commission office on Springdale Road.
Lancaster junior golfers had a strong showing at the recent Pee Wee Championships in Greenwood.
Emily Cox, Baylee Evans, Brady Hinkle and Anthony “T” Sutton competed with golfers from around the state in a SCJGA Premiere weekend event.
The 20th annual Crenshaw Oil Company golf tournament is April 29 at the Lancaster Golf Club.
All tournament proceeds will go toward the Lancaster County Partners for Youth Future Teaching Scholarships Program.
